The first Saturday in June each year the Roane County Chapter host a Celebration at the
Fort Southwest Point.

This year the celebration will be on June 4th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Anyone interested in historical
reenacting in period dress is welcome to arrive on Friday and bivouac overnight.

In 2010 the event featured the storytelling, songs, of
Rick Revel, local story tellers, music, tomahawk
throwing, black powder shooting, canon firing, tours of the fort, food, an active working blacksmithing
forge, clothes washing using washboard and lye soap.

East Tennessee Historical Society  conducted genealogy workshops.

A Cherokee Indian spokesman was present in the Cherokee cabin.

Local Politicians will had the opportunity to make stump speeches on a REAL STUMP.
